The musical, pleasing Beagle is one of the world’s most popular and loved dogs. The Beagle is essentially a medium-sized Foxhound and is related to the pack hounds of Europe. Packs of Beagles or similar dogs were used enthusiastically throughout Great Britain, particularly the Welsh Counties. The average eight for the Beagle is 18-30 pounds; height is divided by classes, under 13 inches and 13-15 inches. The coat is one of the dog’s easy-care facets, short and smooth. A weekly once over the coat keeps it shiny and clean. Beagles are active, happy dogs that love human attention. The Breed’s hardiness and natural resistance to disease has made the dog very helpful to science. A pocket-sized version of the Beagle was once popular but today has been lost.
