Of important concern to Bernese owners, the breed has a high metabolism, which necessitates a special diet, best provided by the breeder. Grooming need be performed regularly but requires very little special procedure. The Bernese Mountain Dog bonds closely with family immediates, is very hardy, and thrives in cold climates.
